Senior Engineer – Highways Infrastructure Project (Coventry)
Location: Coventry
Start Date: Late June / Early July
Duration: Long-term project (minimum 2 years)
Salary: Competitive + package (DOE)
A well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering major infrastructure and highways schemes across the UK is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join a flagship project in Coventry.
This is an opportunity to play a key role on a major £120 million highways improvement scheme that will transform a significant section of the local road network. Site set-up activities are scheduled to begin in July, with main construction works commencing in August.
The Project
The scheme involves the redevelopment of a major highway junction and includes:
* Removal of an existing roundabout
* Construction of a new flyover and revised road layout
* Extensive bulk earthworks operations
* Large-scale drainage installation works
The project is expected to run for a minimum of two years, offering excellent long-term stability and career development opportunities.
The Role
As Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of key construction activities, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience working as a Senior Engineer within civil engineering or highways projects
* Strong background in bulk earthworks and drainage
* Highways infrastructure experience preferred
* Proficient in the use of CAD, GPS machine control systems, and total stations
* Ability to manage setting out activities and provide technical support to site teams
* Strong understanding of quality, safety, and engineering best practices
