Job Title: Senior Engine Test Engineer
Location: Bedfordshire
Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on experience

Job Purpose:
Join a leading team in propulsion testing, where you will grow into a core member of the ICE team. Initially, you will work under the guidance of a Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager, eventually taking on more complex projects independently as you develop.

Responsibilities:
Adhere to all Health and Safety and quality procedures.
Achieve engineering goals set by senior staff.
Create engine installation packs and schematics for accurate test setups.
Identify and resolve engine/test delivery faults in collaboration with others.
Process and validate engine test data.
Analyse engine data to understand trends and identify issues.
Support colleagues to achieve team objectives.
Track project efficiency and manage project invoicing.
Lead initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Participate in regular customer update meetings.
Maintain professional behaviour in line with company values.

Key Skills/Attributes & Experience:
Qualifications:
HND or Degree in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering.
Relevant testbed operation experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in an automotive engineering role.
Experience in an automotive testbed environment.
Strong understanding of gasoline and diesel engine mechanics.
Familiarity with instrumentation (e.g., thermocouples, pressure transducers).
Ability to create and implement test automation procedures.
Experience with various engine types (Petrol, Diesel, High Performance, Heavy Duty, Alternative Fuels) is advantageous.

Skills:
Knowledge of engine fundamentals and material properties.
Understanding of electrical and mechanical engine diagnostics.
Proficiency with engine test cell equipment and software.
Experience with emissions measurement equipment is a plus.
Working knowledge of AVL Puma, Horiba STARS, and/or Kratzer PATools.
Proficient in data interpretation, critique, and presentation (Excel, AVL Concerto).
Ability to write formal reports using standard templates.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Other Requirements:
Flexibility to travel when required.
Full UK driving licence and own transport (location not easily accessible by public transport).
