Cubiq Recruitment are currently looking for an experience Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join one of our R&D clients who are based in Kent. The company in question are looking for somebody with a strong background in embedded systems design and an appreciation of hardware development, to join their ever-growing team as they look to bring more of their R&D activities in-house.
My client are looking for somebody who has an innovative mind who enjoys the challenge of working on cutting edge technology within a highly specialised market to be a key figured head in the R&D team, working closely with engineers from various departments including mechanical, hardware, test & production. Ideally you'll have experience of leading projects, making key product development decisions, and managing key stakeholders (internal and external).
In addition to a formal qualification (MEng, BEng, HND, etc) in Electronics & Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline, you should be able to demonstrate strong skills and experience in the following:
Exceptional Embedded C/C++ programming skills
Familiarity with a range of microprocessors, including ARM Cortex (other brands would also be valuable)
Working knowledge of FreeRTOS development platform for embedded systems
Comfortable developing electronics products which utilise a variety of different wireless communication protocols (BLE, WiFi, Zigbee, MQTT)
Prior experience with low-power stepper motors would be advantageous
Previous experience of working within the consumer electronics market would be advantageous, but is not essential
