Senior Embedded Software Engineer Warwickshire, UK £50-70k + + bonus + benefits
This role requires experience of embedded C software development AND model-based software development utilising Matlab / Simulink tools.
Candidates should have a systems appreciation and ideally have worked within the e-mobility domain (automotive, aerospace or marine). Based in Leamington Spa.

Candidates should have:
* Excellent academic background
* Strong communication skills (used to working with customers)
* Ability to technically lead projects and mentor juniors
* Strong technical ability with the development of both embedded software (embedded C) and model based software (Matlab / Simulink)
* Experience of vehicle electrification, motor control, or similar would be preferred (e.g. powertrain, vehicle dynamics, or similar complex mechatronic systems)
In this role you will be involved with taking customer projects (electric vehicle propulsion / powertrain systems) from concept to prototype. This means being able to develop systems from scratch, bringing solutions up through hardware integration and lab testing to form validated prototypes ready for customer handover.
It is a mixed position that will involve model-based development (Matlab / Simulink) as well as systems engineering activities (concept development, prototype integration and vehicle level integration). Demonstrable embedded C programming experience would be needed. Vehicle electrification / motor control preferred.
Required: Senior Embedded Software Engineer
* 5 years of post-academic experience developing software ideally for electromechanical / mechatronic or automotive systems (ideally vehicle electrification / motor control / electric vehicle powertrains)
* Strong evidence of model based software development using Matlab / Simulink(academic, industrial of own projects)
* A good degree or ideally masters in a relevant subject (e.g. electronics, computer science, automotive engineering, etc)
* Good experience of embedded C programming
* Good practical engineering aptitude (e.g. getting software to work on hardware platforms, within larger electromechanical systems, etc).
* Strong communication skills (used to working with customers) with good commercial understanding
* Ability to technically lead projects and mentor juniors.
* Able to work in a fast-paced, customer centric environment.
* Experience of autocode tools (e.g. Embedded Coder) would be useful.
* Evidence of innovation and creative problem solving for relevant engineering projects would be great
Our client is looking for senior / principal embedded software engineer with a relevant degree to help take proof of concepts through to prototype and into production ready designs. Embedded C programming experience is required as well as model based software development (Matlab / Simulink). Experience of automotive, marine, aerospace or other vehicle electrification / motor control product development would be preferred.
