Senior Electrical Engineer - High Voltage

Are you an Electrical Engineer with a background in the HV, renewables, oil & gas or similar looking for an exciting new challenge where you can significantly develop your skillset in the renewable energy sector whilst being able to leave your mark on innovative cutting edge projects for industries such as green hydrogen and floating offshore wind?

This organisation have a strong focus on the ocean energy development sector as well as other areas such as green hydrogen, floating offshore wind and other clean energy systems. They have already seen significant positive developments in their research projects with plans to keep heading in this direction.

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the testing process for wave and tidal energy devices created by their clients. This will also involve reviewing their designs, ensuring a smooth connection to the grid, and evaluating the devices' power output. In addition to this, you will manage their testing facilities and equipment, including high voltage connections and measurement systems. Training can be provided if you don't have AP or SAP status. There is a requirement with this role to relocate to Orkney in Scotland.

The ideal candidate will come from a relevant background such as HV, renewables, oil & gas or similar where they are looking to come into a role that has high responsibility in which they can develop and implement their own ideas to help grow the team.

The role:

* Providing testing services for wave and tidal generating devices including participating in technology design reviews.

* Working with clients to solve problems of an electrical or technical nature and provide performance related data and reports to them to assist with the design and operation of these devices.

* Implement equipment and systems maintenance plans within budgets.

* Managing the operation of the organisations electrical systems by working closely with Electrical Engineer and Contractors.

The Person:

* Experience in the High Voltage, renewables, oil & gas or a similar sector

* Degree educated in a technical or electrical/electronic discipline (HNC/HND would be considered).

* Willing to relocate to Orkney
