Senior Electrical Engineer

ALink Recruitment are working with an engineering consultancy that are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical support to a rail consultancy.
The requirement is for someone with strong electrical engineering knowledge who can act as a senior technical point of contact, providing advice, reviewing and checking designs, answering technical queries and supporting discussions with clients.You would be undertaking cable calculations using Amtech.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and check electrical designs and engineering deliverables.
* Provide senior-level technical advice and guidance.
* Respond to technical queries and help resolve unusual or complex electrical engineering issues.
* Review designs for compliance with relevant TfL, rail and electrical engineering standards.
* Provide input on LV distribution, lighting and controls, cable management, earthing & bonding and associated electrical systems.
* Liaise directly with clients and confidently explain or defend technical decisions.
* Provide pragmatic solutions where engineering or design issues arise.
* Support projects as required, with workload varying depending on client and project demands.
Experience Required
* Strong background in electrical engineering within the UK rail industry.
* Extensive TfL experience and knowledge.
* Strong understanding of TfL engineering standards, specifications and processes, including TfL Pathway.
* Ability to independently review, interrogate and challenge electrical designs.
* Broad technical knowledge across rail/building-services electrical systems.
* Comfortable dealing directly with clients and answering technical queries.
* Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Ideally Chartered or working at an equivalent senior/technical authority level
