Job title: Senior EHCP Coordinator, Southend-on-Sea (hybrid)
Contract: Fixed term until March 2027
Salary: £47,665-£54,143 depending on experience
Working pattern: hybrid, with 2 days a week in the office
About the role
A local authority in Southend-on-Sea is looking for a Senior EHCP Coordinator for a fixed-term contract until March 2027. You will oversee complex casework, give expert case supervision to EHC coordinators and handle a reduced caseload of complex EHC assessments or annual reviews.
Key responsibilities
Manage a caseload of either new EHC assessments (40-60 at any one time) or existing EHC plans (about (Apply online only)).
Give expert case supervision to a team of EHC coordinators, and deputise for the Team Manager.
Deliver statutory processes within the required timescales and keep quality and operational standards high.
Work with education, health and social care to co-produce amended EHCPs, and travel to meetings in schools and educational settings.
Resolve disputes with educational settings, challenge exclusions and support mediation and tribunal work.
Support the Team Manager with performance, quality assurance and team development.About you
Extensive knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice 2015 and the Children and Families Act 2014.
Local authority experience (essential) and strong experience of a caseload of the size above.
Experience of complex casework, and of conflict resolution and negotiation.
Experience of supervising or supporting team members is desirable.
Excellent communication with parents, carers, settings and partner agencies.
