Summary of the Role:
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Professional Services Team within the Biometrics Integration Product Family (BIP). The BIP includes Biometrics Services, which handles all biometrics traffic into HOB, as well as other products such as IVACS, FES API, BCP, IEG, and SRTP. As part of our team, you'll play a crucial role in supporting and developing these services. With the global rollout of Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), we anticipate a significant increase in transaction volumes through BMS in 2024.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with development and product teams to support BIP application deployments and infrastructure needs.
Identify risks and issues related to future work based on the product roadmap.
Mentor and teach Junior DevOps engineers to enhance their skills.
Maintain service performance and security standards according to HO guidelines.
Attend monthly team days in either Sheffield or Croydon offices.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Proficiency in developing code or scripts for automation and consistent deployment patterns (using at least one major programming/scripting language).
Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Concourse/Jenkins, Vault, and modern monitoring tooling systems.
Experience in engineering and maintaining DevOps toolchains for secure and highly resilient services.
Ability to design, code, and test infrastructure as code (IaC) and continuous improvement pipelines.
Knowledge of industry best practices for monitoring, secret management, and service discovery solutions.
Comfortable working in an agile software development environment.
