Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to lead the design management function on a major new-build laboratory development in Bracknell.
The role will involve managing and coordinating the design process from detailed design through construction, commissioning and handover, working closely with consultants, specialist subcontractors, procurement and the site team.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate architectural, structural, MEP and specialist design.

Manage design programmes, deliverables, RFIs, technical submissions and approvals.
*
Chair design meetings and drive resolution of technical and interface issues.
*
Coordinate design with procurement and construction programmes.
*
Manage specialist subcontractor design packages.
*
Oversee buildability, compliance, design risk and value engineering.
*
Support commissioning, handover and completion of as-built information.
Candidate Requirements:
*
Proven experience as a Design Manager / Senior Design Manager on major construction projects.
*
Strong technical, coordination and stakeholder-management skills.
*
Main contractor experience on complex, technically demanding projects.
*
Good understanding of MEP, architectural and structural interfaces.
*
BIM/document-management experience.
Previous experience delivering life sciences, pharmaceutical or laboratory projects is a distinct advantage. Experience managing façade and curtain walling packages is also highly desirable
