Senior Design Manager – High-Rise Residential Projects
Location: Central London
Salary: £110,000–£125,000 per annum (proposed, subject to approval)
Employment: Permanent, Full-Time
Ridgeway & Co Recruitment are seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Manager for a main contractor involved in complex residential construction projects across Central London.
This is a senior-level opportunity for a technically strong individual with extensive experience managing design delivery on multi-storey residential or mixed-use developments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing design coordination, managing consultant relationships and ensuring technical information supports the construction programme.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead design management across complex residential construction projects.

Manage design consultants and specialist subcontractor design packages.
*
Oversee design programmes, deliverables and technical approvals.
*
Coordinate architectural, structural, façade and M&E design interfaces.
*
Identify design risks and develop practical solutions.
*
Support pre-construction activities, design reviews and value engineering.
*
Work closely with senior project management and commercial teams.
*
Ensure design coordination meets relevant regulatory and contractual requirements.
Requirements:
*
Extensive Design Manager or Senior Design Manager experience.
*
Proven main-contractor background.
*
Strong experience delivering high-rise residential, apartment or mixed-use developments.
*
Excellent technical knowledge of construction detailing and building systems.
*
Experience managing multidisciplinary consultant teams.
*
Strong leadership and communication skills.
*
Relevant degree or professional qualification preferred.
