Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Royal Bolton Hospital, Bolton BL4 0JR

Trust: Bolton NHS Foundation Trust

Job Type/Shift Patterns: Full-time, Monday to Friday, either 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm, totalling 37.5 working hours per week. (This role offers Hybrid flexibility of 1 Day Work from Office and rest Days Work from Home)

Pay Rate: £21.80/Hr.

JOB SUMMARY:

Senior Data Engineer will participate in the maintenance and development of databases, reports and systems using a variety of methods and software tools. The post holder will play a full part in the team approach to providing information support to the Trust, ensuring that systems are in place to deliver information that is accurate and complete, within agreed timescales, to meet internal and external requirements. The post holder will liaise with other BI staff to ensure data completeness, data accuracy and consistency in interpretation of definitions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Continue the development of the SQL Data Warehouse and BI solutions. Participate in the development, maintenance and refinement of BI reports and cubes (Excel, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Tableau) in order to analyse and present highly complex and specialised information to the Trust.

* Utilise various local and national systems, containing patient level and other NHS related data, to extract core datasets to meet routine and ad hoc information requirements.

* Investigate and analyse highly complex data with multiple, sensitive outcomes.

* Independently monitor, investigate and resolve data quality issues.

* Liaise with external software suppliers to integrate new feature/updates into existing reporting systems.

* Lead on own development projects, from inception to conclusion, including liaising with customers where new systems are introduced to the Trust, e.g. a new PAS (Patient Administration system) or major system peripheral to PAS, create, validate, maintain and provide new information products / systems from these, liaising with software suppliers to ensure accuracy.

* Work with the wider team to support a range of automation projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

* Proficient in SQL Server and Tableau.

* Must have in depth experience with SQL and Data Warehousing.

* Proven Experience with Implementation of BI solutions.

* Must have used the BI Stacks. (Excel, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Tableau)

* Experienced in generating complex reports with the help of Business Intelligence tools.

* Excellent written and verbal communication.

This role may require you to show evidence Diploma or ECDL or at least 2 years relevant experience.
