Job Title: Senior Cyber Security Consultant

Location: Manchester - Hybrid, 1 day per week onsite

Contract Details: Fixed Term Contract, 6 months, £700pwd

Responsibilities:

- Cloud Security Consulting:

Provide expert advice on designing and implementing cloud security strategies.
Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud infrastructures.
Advise on cloud security best practises, ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.- Mainframe Migration Security:

Consult on security measures for migrating mainframe systems to cloud platforms.
Ensure secure transfer and integration of data and applications.
Develop and recommend security policies and procedures for mainframe transitions.- Stakeholder Engagement:

Effectively communicate complex technical information to senior management and non-technical stakeholders.
Provide strategic advice on cyber security considerations and risk mitigation.
Develop and deliver training programmes to enhance security awareness among project staff.- Technical Leadership:

Stay updated with the latest cyber security threats and technologies.
Conduct risk assessments and provide actionable recommendations for mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with IT teams to align security solutions with project goals.- Compliance and Governance:

Ensure compliance with relevant UK financial regulations and standards.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for security policies, procedures, and recommendations.
Support internal and external audits, providing required information and documentation.Required Skills and Experience:

- Technical Expertise:

Strong understanding of cloud security architectures and best practises (AWS and Azure).
Experience with mainframe systems and migration projects.
Proficiency in security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption.- Communication Skills:

Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Strong presentation and report-writing skills.
Experience in engaging with senior executives and board members.- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

Strong analytical skills to identify and mitigate security risks.
Proven ability to provide effective security recommendations in a project setting.- Certifications:

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar.
Cloud-specific certifications like AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, etc., are highly desirable.- Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cyber security, with a focus on cloud security and mainframe environments.
Demonstrated experience in consulting and providing security expertise for large-scale projects.Personal Attributes:
