Description:
A leading engineering and design consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior Cost Manager to join their Cost Management team in London or Birmingham.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding team delivering complex infrastructure and energy programmes, working across a diverse portfolio of major projects while contributing to business growth and technical excellence.
Responsibilities for Senior Cost Manager:
* Deliver technical cost management services across complex infrastructure and energy projects
* Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
* Monitor, analyse, and control cost performance against set targets using EVM and similar techniques
* Develop and apply Cost and Work Breakdown Structures and methods of measurement including NRM and RMM
* Support and manage teams on project and technical delivery
* Contribute to business development activity and key account management
* Mentor and develop junior cost management staff
* Support the development and use of cost management software including Power BI, PRISM, Oracle, Deltek, and Ecosys
* Engage with wider project controls expertise including schedule logic and risk exposure
* Contribute to service innovation, benchmarking capabilities, and technical excellence
Essential Requirements for Senior Cost Manager:
* Degree qualified in a construction or finance related field
* RICS, ICE, AACE, CaSA or equivalent professional qualification preferred
* Proven experience in cost management across major infrastructure or energy projects
* Strong knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract including NEC, FIDIC, and IChemE
* Technical ability in Earned Value Management and cost performance monitoring
* Experience working in a consultancy environment delivering complex programmes
* Good network within the energy and/or infrastructure sectors
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Ambition for innovation and growth within a complex projects environment
Desirable:
* Experience with Power BI, PRISM, Oracle, Deltek, or Ecosys
* Major programme experience across energy, transport, water, or aviation sectors
