Apple Recruitment are recruiting for a Senior Communications Officer.

Job Purpose:

The Trust encompass Senior Communications Officer will play a pivotal role in communicating the vision for the encompass Programme across key stakeholder groups within HSC Trust to enable transformational change. The encompass Programme is a HSCNI wide transformation Programme which seeks to best position HSCNI to capitalise on digitally enabled whole system approach to the delivery of safer, informed care.

Responsible, as a senior staff member within the broader communications team, for the organisation and development of high-quality communication services including digital, media, events and public affairs. Responsible for promoting the Trust’s corporate image and for acting as a link between the Trust and its internal and external stakeholders.

Job Description:

1. Playing a senior role in assisting in the development of a strategic approach to encompass communications.

2. Actively participating in the encompass Regional Communications Team strategic development of communications work on behalf of the Northern Trust.

3. Providing specialist communications and reputation management advice, support and guidance on media to encompass senior management team, taking account of January 2024 the sensitive nature of the communication.

4. Supporting the implementation, development and use of a communications evaluation system for Corporate Communications and analysing trends as required.

5. Monitoring and evaluating communications activities.

6. Working with Trust directors, senior managers and senior professional services staff to identify strategic and operational proactive communications opportunities; develop, implement, monitor and evaluate resulting programme.

7. Providing support to the broader communications team in managing and prioritising workload. Liaise and collaborate with colleagues to help deliver the above and to maximise resources.

8. Representing the Trust as a communications specialist advisor on encompass related committees, projects and groups as required, including unspecified key projects that are both regional and local.

9. Working on own initiative and unsupervised to deadlines, planning, organising and setting priorities for self and others as appropriate to ensure targets are met.

10. Undertaking any other reasonable duties as requested by the Business Change Managers and the Head of Corporate Communications.

Essential Criteria:

Applicants must, by the closing date for applications, have:

A relevant third level qualification or recognised professional qualification or equivalent / Higher qualification.

AND

Two years’ experience working as part of a corporate communications team in a busy and complex organisation with specific responsibility for media (print, broadcast, digital), and/or public affairs. OR HNC / HND or equivalent relevant qualification

AND

Three years’ experience working as part of a corporate communications team in a busy and complex organisation with specific responsibility for specific responsibility for media (print, broadcast, digital), and/or public affairs.

OR

Five years’ experience in a communications role including at least one working as part of a corporate communications team in a busy and complex organization, with specific responsibility for media (print, broadcast, digital), and/or public affairs.

Further Details:

· Salary: Band 6 - £18.10 per hour

· Duration: Temporary

. Hours: 25 hours per week
