Senior Commercial Manager - Defence

Eden Brown is delighted to be supporting a leading global consultancy in the recruitment of a talented and motivated Senior Commercial Manager to join their growing Defence team in Derby.

Working on high-profile and technically complex programmes within a highly regulated environment, you will play a key role in supporting project delivery, managing commercial risk and opportunity, administering contracts, and driving value throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, provide expert commercial advice, and contribute to the successful delivery of nationally significant programmes.

Security Clearance (SC) is essential, or applicants must be eligible and willing to obtain and maintain SC Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide commercial management support across complex project and programme delivery teams.
Offer specialist commercial advice to identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
Administer NEC contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and governance requirements.
Deliver cost management, forecasting and commercial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare financial reports, including cost forecasts, anticipated final costs and valuations.
Assess the commercial impact of design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client requirements.
Support the evaluation and resolution of contractor and supplier claims, including delay and disruption events.
Manage compensation events, change control processes, commercial risk and contractual notices.
Support practical completion, final account negotiations and commercial close-out activities.
Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure all contractual documentation is effectively managed and archived.
Requirements:

Proven commercial management experience within Defence, Infrastructure, Nuclear, Engineering, or similarly complex environments.
Strong NEC contract administration and management expertise.
Excellent understanding of contract law and commercial frameworks relating to construction and engineering projects.
Experience in cost management, forecasting, financial control and commercial reporting.
Proven ability to identify and manage commercial risk, change control and claims.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline. Whats on Offer:
