We are working with a renowned civil infrastructure specialist, responsible for delivering some of the UK’s most iconic projects. They have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join their bid team and play a pivotal role in bringing technical expertise to the bid process for a range of projects, with a primary focus on structures, highways, and rail infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of the company by ensuring that our bids are technically robust, competitive, and aligned with client requirements.

Responsibilities:

1. Technical Expertise: Provide expert technical input and guidance throughout the bid process, including assessing project requirements, proposing innovative solutions, and ensuring technical accuracy and feasibility.

2. Bid Preparation: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring that technical aspects related to civil engineering are effectively addressed and articulated.

3. Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments for civil engineering aspects of projects, identifying potential challenges, and proposing mitigation strategies to enhance the competitiveness and viability of bids.

4. Cost Estimation: Support the estimation of costs associated with civil engineering works, including materials, labor, equipment, and other resources, to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.

5. Client Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their technical requirements, preferences, and concerns, and incorporate feedback into bid proposals to enhance alignment and competitiveness.

6. Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all bid submissions comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and client specifications, and demonstrate a commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability.

7. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within the bid team, including the development of tools, templates, and best practices to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

* Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.

* Minimum of five years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on structures, highways, and rail infrastructure projects.

* Proven track record of successful involvement in large-scale civil engineering projects.

* In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and techniques.

* Proficiency in relevant software tools and applications used in civil engineering design, analysis, and project management.

* Demonstrated commitment to professional development and staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
