Working within a dynamic team, and overseen by an Associate Director, you will assist in leading the delivery of civil engineering design on a range of challenging projects across the infrastructure sector. The focus will be on Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) and conventional surface water drainage design.

This is a varied and technically demanding role, ideal for someone who thrives on solving engineering problems. You will support a culture in which employees take pride in their work and put customer service first.

Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate the following:

* At least seven years’ experience in surface and foul water design and/or construction, to Sewers for Adoption and the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).

* A degree in Civil Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.

* Chartered status, or close to completing professional qualification, with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).

* Proficiency in 3D design and drainage modelling software, such as MicroDrainage and/or InfoDrainage.

* Knowledge of water authority statutory approval processes, including Section 104 and Section 106 agreements.

* Experience with SuDS Approval Body (SAB) requirements and approval processes.

* Awareness of national planning policy and infrastructure design requirements relating to flood risk management.

* The ability to manage a team with varying levels of experience, providing technical support and resource planning in line with Integrated Management Systems.

* The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritising tasks and deliverables to support effective client delivery.

* The ability to build and maintain relationships with statutory bodies such as Natural Resources Wales and the Environment Agency.

* A proactive approach, with the ability to use initiative and demonstrate a methodical approach to problem-solving.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to help lead a growing drainage team within a respected, family-owned consultancy. You will work on a diverse range of infrastructure projects, shape the technical direction of the team, and receive strong support for your continued professional development and career progression
