Description:
Senior Civil Engineer – Building Drainage
London | £50,000 – £65,000 + Benefits
The Opportunity
A leading engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join its London team.
This is a specialist opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in building drainage, rather than a purely highways or infrastructure-focused Civil Engineer.
You’ll work on a varied portfolio of building projects, providing civil engineering solutions from early-stage design through to detailed design and delivery.
The Role
You’ll take a key role in the delivery of civil engineering schemes, with building drainage forming a core part of your workload.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing above and below-ground building drainage systems
Producing drainage strategies and detailed designs
Working in accordance with Part H of the Building Regulations
Designing foul, surface water and rainwater systems
Coordinating drainage designs with architectural, structural and MEP disciplines
Producing technical drawings, specifications and calculations
Supporting projects from concept through to construction
Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants
Reviewing technical work and supporting junior engineers
Taking responsibility for project deliverables and deadlines
About You
We’re looking for an established Senior Engineer who is already operating at Senior level, rather than someone looking for their first step up.
You should have:
7+ years' relevant experience
Strong experience in building drainage design
Good working knowledge of Part H of the Building Regulations
Experience delivering civil engineering designs within a consultancy environment
Strong understanding of foul and surface water drainage
Experience coordinating designs within multidisciplinary building projects
Strong technical and communication skills
The ability to manage your own projects and deliverables
Chartered status is advantageous but not essential.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a highly respected engineering consultancy and work on technically interesting building projects alongside experienced professionals across multiple disciplines.
If you're an experienced Senior Civil Engineer with a genuine building drainage background and want to work on complex, design-led projects in London, we'd be keen to hear from you.
