Joining a well-established Civil Engineering team, you'll play a key role in delivering infrastructure designs for projects ranging from commercial, education and healthcare developments through to major mixed-use schemes valued in excess of £100m. Working alongside architects, structural engineers, project managers and other specialist disciplines, you'll have the opportunity to influence projects from the earliest planning stages through to construction.

This is a varied position where no two projects are the same. You'll produce Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies and pre-planning advice, developing practical infrastructure solutions that help unlock complex sites. You'll lead the design of highways, drainage and external works, prepare calculations, drawings and technical specifications, and ensure schemes meet both client expectations and statutory approval requirements.

You'll also become a trusted point of contact for clients, attending meetings, carrying out site visits and providing technical advice throughout the design and construction process. As a senior member of the team, you'll support and mentor junior engineers while working closely with colleagues across multiple disciplines to deliver coordinated engineering solutions.

You'll have experience working within a UK civil engineering consultancy, ideally within a multidisciplinary environment, and be confident delivering infrastructure design from concept through to construction.

You'll have strong technical knowledge across highways and drainage design, including Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies, SuDS and earthworks, together with a solid understanding of Section 38, 278, 104, 106 and 185 agreements.

Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D is essential, along with a good understanding of UK design standards, Building Regulations, British Standards and local authority approval processes. You'll ideally be working towards, or already hold, professional membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
