Castle Employment Group are working exclusively with the team behind the Grainary & The Falcon as they look to expand their kitchen team to bring on board an experienced senior chef to support these busy venues in the Scarborough area. You will be working for a family business that are very hands and are passionate about delivering excellent food and service at both venues and as a chef you will need to command a strong presence when working on the pass in these kitchens.
With a starting salary from £27,000, you will also benefit from a generous share of tips, there is an emphasis on training & development, and you have the chance to be part of an ambitious and expanding private hospitality business.
We are wanting to speak to chefs who come from a fresh food background with experience in either restaurant & hotels if they are comfortable with high volume and fast paced kitchens. There is an expectation to use your own transport due to the locality of the venues and the different shift patterns. The suitable chef would have a good personality & temperament with high standards for both the food they prepare and the kitchen they are working in.
What the role of Senior Chef looks like:
Prepare and deliver menu items to specified recipes.
Work collaboratively under the guidance of the Head & Group Chef.
Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety standards.
Run either a section of the kitchen or the pass during busy services
Foster good communication within the kitchen and with Front of House (FOH) staff.
Attend meetings as required.
Actively contribute to the training and development of the junior team.
Be available to work at either site as and when requiredRequirements:
Excellent knowledge and understanding of Food Safety.
Relevant catering qualifications – City & Guilds or NVQ
Previous experience with fresh food in a pub or gastro pub setting.
Strong communication skills in English.
