Senior Carer – Days
Location: Oakwood, Leeds
Pay Rate: £12.90 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent after probation
Shift Pattern: Day shifts, including every other weekend
Brookes HC Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior Carer to join a small, friendly care home in the Oakwood area of Leeds.
The home supports up to 22 residents with a range of needs including dementia, learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Residents range in age from their 40s through to older adults, so this is a varied and rewarding role within a supportive care environment.
The Role:
As Senior Carer, you will support the day-to-day running of shifts and help ensure residents receive safe, person-centred care.
Duties will include:
* Leading and supporting care staff on shift
* Administering medication safely and accurately
* Supporting residents with personal care and daily living needs
* Completing care records and documentation
* Supporting residents with dementia, learning disabilities and mental health needs
* Reporting any changes in residents’ needs or wellbeing
* Liaising with senior staff, families and healthcare professionals where required
* Promoting dignity, independence and choice
* Helping maintain a warm, safe and friendly home environment
The Candidate:
We are looking for someone who has:
* Previous care experience within a care home or residential setting
* Experience as a Senior Carer, Team Leader or experienced Care Assistant
* Confidence administering medication
* The ability to lead and support a team on shift
* Good communication and documentation skills
* A caring, reliable and professional approach
* Flexibility to work every other weekend
* The right to work in the UK
