The Role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, leading shifts, supporting your colleagues and ensuring residents receive the highest standards of care at all times.

This role is ideal for someone who is confident taking responsibility, has strong medication administration experience and prides themselves on being reliable, committed and compassionate.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading the Team

Lead shifts, ensuring exceptional standards of care are maintained throughout.
Support, mentor and motivate Care Assistants during each shift.
Allocate workloads and ensure care is delivered safely and efficiently.
Work closely with management to ensure the smooth running of the home.
Lead by example, promoting professionalism, teamwork and high standards.
Providing Outstanding Care

Deliver high-quality personal care tailored to each resident's individual needs.
Support residents with mobility, nutrition, hydration and daily living activities.
Promote dignity, independence and choice in everything you do.
Monitor residents' physical and emotional wellbeing, escalating concerns appropriately.
Medication & Clinical Responsibilities

Safely administer medication with confidence and accuracy.
Maintain accurate medication records in line with best practice.
Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes promptly.
Assist with appointments and liaise with healthcare professionals when required.
Documentation & Safeguarding

Maintain accurate care records and daily documentation.
Assist with reviewing and updating care plans.
Build positive relationships with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.
Uphold safeguarding principles, CQC standards and health & safety procedures at all times.
About You

We're looking for someone who not only has the experience but also shares the home's values.

You'll ideally have:

NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it).
A minimum of 5 years' experience within a residential care environment.
Previous experience leading or mentoring a care team.
Strong medication administration experience (essential).
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A compassionate, patient and professional approach.
Outstanding reliability, commitment and a strong work ethic.
Confidence leading shifts and making informed decisions.
Good IT and record-keeping skills.
Flexibility to work days or nights.
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
Right to work in the UK.
Hours & Salary

£13.60 - £14.00 per hour, with flexibility depending on experience.
Minimum 36-hour contract per week.
12-hour day shifts
12-hour night shifts.
Additional holiday cover hours available for those wishing to increase their earnings.
