Senior Buyer

Seymour John are delighted to be working with a long-standing manufacturing client to add a Senior Buyer to their Purchasing department. This a pivotable role within the organisation, working closely with senior management and production teams.
Purpose
You will be responsible for supporting of the companies’ procurement strategy in order to deliver cost savings and process improvements and ensuring that the company’s competitive position is maintained and enhanced at all times.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Supplier selection, purchasing, and stock holding
* Develop the supplier base to ensure the right balance between price, quality and delivery performance.
* Develop processes to improve the procurement and supply chain processes within the company.
* Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, internal and external customers.
* Assist with management of supply chain logistics through the post-Brexit customs requirements.
* Develop market knowledge and contacts for new products and services.
* Ensure products received are in line with the quality expectations of the company and help to resolve any quality issue that may arise from a supplier’s product.
* Visit external suppliers, trade shows and industry events as and when required.
