Our client is looking for a Senior Buyer for a permanent position, located in Aberdeen
ROLE
The Senior Buyer will form an integral part of the Purchasing function in the achievement of Operational objectives. The role is key to leading the Company forward in securing quality suppliers of materials and components covering price, delivery and quality targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers, Identify new suppliers, agree terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate.
Overseeing the management of stocks and materials to maximize business efficiency.
Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production.
Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities.
Continually improve purchasing methods to drive down external spend.
Developing market knowledge and contacts for new products and services.
Producing reports and statistics where requested.
Keeping supplier catalogues and files and using them as reference for the future.
Checking costs, quality and levels of service.
Attending meetings and trade events as necessary.
Visiting distribution centres and suppliers if required.
Training and supervising stores staff as required.
