Description:
Following growth and expansion, Consilium Recruit has been exclusively assigned to partner an innovate manufacturer to manage their recruitment of a Senior Buyer. Joining at a time of significant expansion and new product development you will be tasked with identifying new suppliers, developing relationships and negotiating long term contracts. Candidates are sought with experience in a similar position purchasing complex engineered components and parts.
Commutable from: Leamington Spa, Stratford upon Avon, Coventry, Birmingham, Banbury, Warwick.
Salary: £ 45,000 - £ 50,000 plus benefits
Suitable for: Senior Buyer, Buyer, Purchasing Manager.
The Role
Identify, establish and develop supplier base.
Drive supply chain improvements.
Negotiating supplier agreements
Receive and analyse quotations.
Negotiate with suppliers and make commercial recommendations.
Represent the purchasing department at internal and external meetings.
Work with Engineering and other relevant functions to assess and nominate suppliers.
Carry out supplier assessments.
Develop and implement the appropriate metrics to measure and improve supplier performance.
Provide input to support execution of Supply Chain Strategy.
The Person
Experienced in Procurement & Supply Chain in a complex manufacturing environment.
Proven track record of identifying new supplier and developing long term relationships.
A good understanding of purchasing complex engineering components and parts.
A good understanding of Total Cost of Ownership methodology.
Ideally will have worked in an SME and blue-chip organisation.
CIPS qualified (preferred).
Excellent communicator at all levels.
