Location: Carlisle
Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full Time
Adecco Workington are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a fantastic client in Carlisle for a Senior Buyer to join their procurement team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced purchasing professional looking to take the next step in their career within a fast-paced manufacturing and supply chain environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring materials, goods and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively and in line with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage purchasing activities for a range of materials, components and services.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Negotiate pricing, contracts and commercial agreements.
Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules and quality standards.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Track market trends and supplier developments.
Work closely with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements.
Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
Resolve supply chain issues and minimise disruptions.
Produce reports and purchasing data to support business decisions.
Ensure stock levels and procurement activities align with operational demands.
About You
Previous experience in a Buyer or Senior Buyer position.
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Commercially aware with excellent analytical abilities.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and purchasing systems.
Organised with excellent attention to detail.
