Gap Personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting for our client in Telford for a Senior Buyer on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to grow and develop with a company that is continuously growing and is well established, with full support from the Managing Director.

Hours of work:

Monday - Friday

Pay: 

£40,000 - £50,000 dependent on experience + bonus structure + excellent holiday package

Duties and responsibilities as a Senior Buyer

Responsible for the sourcing & management of Domestic parts for production and Spares.

Supplier negotiations Spend +£20million.

Establishment of working relationships with key / strategic suppliers.

New Product Introduction with Development Engineering Team.

Collaboration projects with other Group Companies.

Purchases materials and other supplies at the best possible price, with the required quality, quantity, delivery specification in accordance with company policy, procedures & process.

Ensure suppliers perform all aspects of Purchase Orders in line with the business needs.

Provide management information on material trends and availability.

A good understanding of technical CAD drawings and ISO9001 will be an advantage, along with a basic knowledge of various Japanese ‘work methods’ (i.e. Kaizen, Gemba, 5S).

The job holder will be expected to meet (and visit) with Suppliers on a regular basis to review supplier performance levels and quality performance.

The role will involve some travel both in the UK & Overseas.

Skills and qualifications require as a Senior Buyer

A go getter - willing to learn all aspects of the business to support and can develop key relationships internally and externally
Working within direct and indirect buying - Essential
Working experience within auditing and expenditure
CIPs qualification desired but not essential
Willing to travel UK & overseas
Passion and drive within a buying role
