Senior Building Surveyor | Exeter
The Opportunity We’re working with a highly respected property and construction consultancy to recruit a Senior Building Surveyor for their established Exeter team.

You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of projects spanning education, commercial, retail and care, combining professional building surveying services with hands-on project delivery.
This is a role where you’ll have real ownership of your work, from initial client brief through to completion, delivering projects that improve buildings and environments used by communities across the region.
The Role
As Senior Building Surveyor, you’ll take responsibility for a varied portfolio of professional and project-led instructions, working closely with clients, consultants and internal teams.
Your role will include:
Delivering a broad range of professional building surveying services
Leading refurbishment, improvement and asset management projects
Managing projects from initial brief through design, procurement and delivery to completion
Acting as lead consultant and key client contact
Preparing specifications, reports and technical documentation
Undertaking contract administration and project management duties
Coordinating internal disciplines and external consultants
Ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on programme and to a high standard You’ll be given the autonomy to manage your own workload and client relationships, backed by an experienced and collaborative wider team.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor who is comfortable taking ownership of projects and dealing directly with clients.
You’ll ideally bring:
MRICS status
Strong experience across professional building surveying and project delivery
Good technical knowledge of refurbishment and asset improvement works
Experience of contract administration and project management
CAD proficiency
Revit experience would be advantageous, but isn’t essential
Strong communication and client-facing skills
A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys taking responsibility for projects, building strong client relationships and being part of a professional but down-to-earth team.
