As an Aerospace Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. In this role you will be making a real and tangible difference to our customer's critical operations.

The successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be working in an environment where your contribution is genuinely crucial, recognised and rewarded. You will have opportunities to be hands-on with the aircraft we modify, and you will be able to see the output of yours and your teams work from concept to flight.

Day to day, you will manage the mechanical design engineering team in the production of part, assembly and installation drawings, in compliance with the Design Office Handbook (DOH) and appropriate Certification Basis e.g., CS-27, CS-29 etc.

You will be responsible for:

Supporting the development and growth of the mechanical design engineering team.
Being accountable for the checking and compliance verification of design data produced within the Design Organisation.
Liaising with other Senior Engineering functions and external sub-contractors relating to mechanical/structural design aspects of the delivery
Supporting the development and evolution of processes and procedures relating to mechanical design
Being the focal point for the production and installation engineers in matters relating to mechanical/structural design.
Creating and contributing to customer facing design reviews throughout the design life-cycle.
Management and execution of detailed aircraft surveys during quotation and delivery stages.You will have:

Previous experience working within an Aerospace Design Office as a Structures (Panel 3) check signatory and CVE, or be able to evidence significant progress towards this.
Proven record of creating conceptual structures / mechanical designs
Knowledge of, and the ability to select, appropriate mechanical/structural techniques and solutions for aerospace applications e.g. material selection, corrosion protection, fuselage hardpoint interfaces, cabin structures.
Knowledge of current and future aerospace structural manufacturing processes.
Experience leading people and/or projects in a complex engineering environment
HNC / HND / Degree in a relevant engineering subject.The package:
