Title: Senior Accounting Manager
Location: Isle of Man - Hybrid
Salary: £80-85,000pa

Purpose of Role:
The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for building, leading, and managing a team of Managers, Accountants and Bookkeepers across various levels. This role will oversee the entire accounting function, across multiple sites ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial statements while driving profitability.
  
Key Responsibilities:

Build, lead, and manage a team of Managers, Accountants and Bookkeepers, providing guidance, development, coaching, and mentoring.
Ensure the team adheres to continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.
Ensure all client expectations and accounting deadlines are effectively prepared for and managed.
Prioritise and manage the accounting workflow, collaborating proactively with Trust Administration Teams to resolve queries and finalise financial statements promptly.
Take ownership of workload prioritisation and maintain professional communication with clients, auditors, and other third parties.
Enhance profitability by reviewing fee structures, setting up charges, ensuring timely billing/invoicing of accounting fees, and supporting Trust Administration Teams with client fee proposals.
Support the Director in initiating and leading change initiatives to improve operating efficiencies, optimize headcount, and enhance profitability, including undertaking special projects as required.
Meet personal targets for time recording and utilisation, and take action to ensure business risk targets are achieved. Utilise technical expertise to manage risk, escalating issues as needed in line with company policies.
Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality and technically accurate financial statements in compliance with statutory requirements and generally accepted accounting standards (UK GAAP).
Prepare and review complex financial statements, providing ongoing technical support to colleagues on financial queries and initiatives.
Produce accurate and timely management information, ensuring that agreed targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.   
Knowledge and Experience:

A relevant professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CA) is essential. A fiduciary qualification (e.g., STEP) is considered advantageous.
Significant accounting experience within a fiduciary services environment, with at least 5 years in a people management role.
Working knowledge and understanding of relevant statutory requirements.
Technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP/FRS102).
Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations at Board level.
Capable of applying judgment and initiative to standard work practices and solving day-to-day problems.
