Job Opportunity: Senior Accountant/Practice Manager
Location: Norwich
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced accountant to join their team and support the growth and development of their business. As a Senior Accountant/Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the practice, working closely with the principal to provide exceptional service to clients.
You will have the opportunity to work in a unique shop-fronted office environment, facilitating face-to-face interactions with clients in a relaxed setting, which encourages new clients to engage with the practice.
Role and Responsibilities:
Preparation of year-end accounts for various clients, including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships, utilizing accounting software and adhering to generally accepted accounting principles.
Preparation of Self-Assessment Tax Returns for companies, individuals, and partnerships.
Management of a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely delivery of services and addressing client queries.
Preparation of VAT returns.
Submission of year-end company accounts and corporation tax returns in compliance with Companies House and HMRC deadlines.
Provision of client-focused support, including conducting client meetings and effectively communicating with clients via phone, email, and in person.
Supervision and support of other team members.
Assistance in onboarding new clients by preparing relevant documentation.
Establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
Skills criteria:
Full or part-qualification with an appropriate technical qualification, accompanied by at least 3 years' experience in practice OR Qualified by Experience (QBE) with a minimum of 5 years' experience in practice.
Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Proficient knowledge of accounts, VAT, and tax, particularly for small businesses and individuals.
