Senior Accountant
G2 Recruitment are working alongside our client to hire a Senior Accountant on a permanent basis.
Salary: £50,513.00
Hours: Full time role
Working Pattern (Flexible Hours/Remote): Hybrid working in SW England, ideally 2-3 days per week but may change dependent on the needs of the service.
Job Details:
This role will assist the Council's Section 151 Officer and the Chief Accountant in providing strong and effective corporate and operational financial management for the Council.
Required Skills / Experience -
A relevant professional qualification (CCAB qualified)
Significant post qualification experience in the public sector
Proven experience in financial reporting
Detailed and working knowledge of key Local Government funding and finance streams (e.g. Council Tax, Business Rates, Capital Financing)
Experience with Agresso Business WorldResponsibilities -
Assist with the development of business cases in accordance with the Council's Project Management Framework providing robust financial advice and support, and acting as a critical friend on projects
Support the Section 151 Officer and the Chief Accountant with the preparation of the annual budget and Medium-Term Financial Strategy
