We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a Bookkeeping and Accounting Team in the Isle of Man. The successful candidate will be tasked with preparing and reviewing detailed financial statements for a diverse portfolio of Trusts and Companies. Additionally, this role involves handling ad hoc reporting and tax compliance responsibilities as needed.
  
Key Responsibilities:

Manage client expectations and ensure accounting deadlines are met.
Finalise financial statements promptly and accurately.
Take ownership of tasks, prioritize workload effectively, and maintain clear communication with line managers and third parties.
Exhibit proficiency in banking and accounting systems, adapting quickly to new systems when required.
Achieve personal targets related to time recording and utilisation, while ensuring business risk targets are met.
Utilise technical skills to understand and manage risks, escalating issues in accordance with policies.
Assist in the timely preparation and review of high-quality complex financial statements in compliance with relevant laws and accounting practices.
Support peers with technical and ad hoc financial queries, as well as special project work when needed.
Foster a collaborative working relationship with the Bookkeeping and Trust Administration Teams to ensure the timely completion of bookkeeping tasks and resolution of queries.   
Required Skills and Experience:

Prior experience in preparing financial statements for Trusts and Companies is advantageous.
Familiarity with statutory requirements and UK GAAP.
Ability to apply standard work practices and solve day-to-day problems using judgment and initiative.
Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism under time-sensitive conditions.
Strong prioritisation and time management skills, delivering results without compromising quality and accuracy.
A team player who is self-motivated and focused on exceeding targets and goals.
High level of personal and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with clients and colleagues.
Holding or working towards a relevant professional qualification (such as ACCA or CA) is preferred. Equivalent qualifications and work experience will also be considered.
