Senior Accountant

Description:

Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a leading manufacturing business in Alfreton as they look to to bring a new Senior Accountant into the finance team.

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, this role will be a key member of the finance team, assisting in making critical business decisions by analysing and presenting key financial data.

Duties will include: -

- Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Variance analysis along with any related commentary 
- VAT returns
- Assisting with preparing budgets and forecasts
- Developing and managing key relationships outside the finance function 
- Preparation and analysis of monthly cost reports for departmental managers and the senior management team
- Supporting the FC with the decision-making process, that will ensure business growth and long-term success

This is very much a hands on role with plenty of opportunity for personal growth.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experiences: - 

Ideally qualified ACCA/CIMA/ ACA
Proven experience working in a busy finance team.
Good knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices
Working knowledge of cost accounting and reporting
Involvement within budgeting and forecasting, including analysis
Working knowledge of ERP software and MS Office
Analytical mind with aptitude in maths
Extract and manipulate data for analysis
A problem-solver with attention to detail and organisational skills
Good interpersonal and business partnering skills
Excellent written and verbal communicator
Diligent and structured approach 
Desire to deliver continual improvements
