Description:
Our Client are a leading home design and installation business who have served the island's community for more than two decades. As they manage an increasingly successful operation they require an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team.
As Senior Accountant, your duties and focus will include:
Weekly:
- Maintain Fixed Asset Register
- Reconciliation of 3 bank accounts
- Rebate Management & Turnover Reports onto a website/portal
- Outstanding Invoice Report (Sales & Purchases)
- Turnover report Credit Sales, Cash Sales & Showroom Sales
- Maintain Cash Sales Debtors (Deposits)
- Maintaining Periods within system (end of month, end of year)
- Overall supervision of accounts department data entry
- Provide cover for the accounts department when required (holidays)
Monthly:
- VAT Return
- Wages (via DPN)
- Stock valuation reports
- Dividend payments (monthly) and certificates (annually)
- Cashflow Forecasts
- Secondary check/reconciliation of supplier monthly payments. Then authorisation of the payments
- Final stage debt chasing and liaising with the MD regarding next steps and accounts on hold/ small claims. Communicating with coroner's office regarding payments due
Monthly/Quarterly Jobs
- Management Accounts
- VAT Return on the Govt website
Annually:
- Data Protection
- Insurance analysis
- Budgets
- Rates payments
- Bad Debt Provisions
- Distribution and Records kept of dividend vouchers
- Preparation of T14s via DPN along with Government input
- Filing and records kept for end of year accounts
- Government questionnaires regarding employee pay (receive roughly twice a year)
Ad hoc
- Entry of new employees to Govt website
- Vehicle TAX renewals
- Additional drivers for insurance driver policy (Under 25s)
- Documentation filed and securely kept for future reference
The ideal candidate for the role of Senior Accountant will have:
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in an accounting role
* Part or fully qualified (ACCA / ACA)
* Proficient with Microsoft Excel
* DPN experience would be beneficial
* Government website experience
* Aviva platform knowledge

* Good team leader
* Organized and able to work to deadlines
