Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an independent specialist SEMH school in Stoke-on-Trent to recruit a dedicated SENDCo to join their experienced and supportive staff team.
This is a unique opportunity to work within a specialist setting supporting secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school offers a highly personalised approach to education, small class sizes and a strong focus on helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes. The role:
Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school
Manage and oversee EHCPs, annual reviews and statutory processes
Work closely with teaching, pastoral and leadership teams to ensure pupils receive the support they need
Liaise with families, local authorities and external professionals
Support staff with effective SEND strategies and interventions
Monitor provision, progress and outcomes for pupils with additional needs
Contribute to the continued development of SEND provision across the school
We are looking for:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
SENDCo qualification (or working towards completion where applicable)
Strong understanding of SEND legislation and EHCP processes
Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs
Excellent organisation, communication and leadership skills
A proactive and solution-focused approach
Applications are particularly welcome from:
Experienced SENDCos seeking a new challenge within a specialist setting
SEND leaders looking to take the next step in their career
Qualified teachers who hold the SENDCo qualification and are looking to move into a SEND leadership role
What the school offers:
A specialist SEMH environment where relationships come first
An experienced and supportive staff team
Opportunities to influence and develop provision
Ongoing professional development and leadership opportunities
A clear pathway to a permanent contract
The chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable young people
