We are delighted to be making an appointment for a full time, permanent, SENDco and Qualified Teacher to join us at our high achieving, Ofsted 'Outstanding' 11-18 academy in North Yorkshire, to lead in the strategic development and direction of the SEND provision in the academy. Our academy has been regularly ranked in The Times top schools in the North. We offer a high quality of education for our students and excellent career progression and training for staff. Our driving ambition is ‘Students First: Raising Standards and Transforming Lives’.  This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner to join our Family of Schools and work with us as part of the team that rapidly transformed the school to one that offers outstanding provision and is the school of choice in its community. This post is a vital appointment in terms of enhancing and ensuring the positive life chances for our students through success and achievement.

This role would suit someone ambitious for progression or determined to be an outstanding classroom teacher, leadership development, succession planning, and capacity building are major priorities for the Trust as this enables us to facilitate rapid progression for those who want to advance either in the classroom or at a leadership level.

Main duties and responsibilities:

To be responsible for all aspects of pupils with SEND education and welfare in and across the academy to enable them to participate as members of the academy.
Provide expert advice, modelled through outstanding teaching.
Based within the inclusion team to lead and direct on strategies for students with complex needs.
Management of identified staff within the inclusion teams.
To be a member of SLT
Develop the practice of all staff and will work closely with our dedicated inclusion team to support our students.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:

A suitably qualified SENDCO or with a willingness to achieve National SENDCO Award
QTS is essential as you will be expected to deliver approximately 15 hours of teaching per week.
A passion for supporting our most vulnerable students and those with barriers to learning is essential.
