SEND Tutor – Alternative Learning Provision Up to £40 per hour | Casual
Are you a SEND Tutor, Teacher, Education Mentor or experienced Tutor looking for flexible work where you can make a genuine difference to young people who need a different approach to education?
We’re recruiting on behalf of a large education provider for a SEND Tutor to join their Alternative Learning Provision, supporting young people who may have SEND/SEMH needs or have struggled to engage within mainstream education.
The Role This is not a traditional classroom teaching position.
You’ll work closely with individual learners, delivering personalised education based around their ability, needs and learning goals.
The focus will primarily be on:
KS3
Foundation-level learning
Functional Skills – Entry Level, 1 2 & 3
English, Maths, literacy and numeracy
Re-engaging learners who have struggled with mainstream education
Building confidence, motivation and positive learning behaviours
Supporting learners with SEND/SEMH needs
Tracking and encouraging meaningful educational progress You’ll need to be confident adapting your approach to different learners and comfortable working with young people who may present with challenging behaviour, low engagement or additional learning needs.
What We’re Looking For We’re keen to hear from candidates with experience as a:
SEND/SEN Tutor
Teacher
Functional Skills Tutor
Education or Learning Mentor
Intervention Tutor
Teaching Assistant with strong academic/tutoring experience
Alternative Provision practitioner Experience working with SEND, SEN, SEMH, autism, ADHD, KS3 or Entry Level learners is highly desirable.
A teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE or another relevant qualification is essential.
