SEND Tutor - St Helens
The Opportunity
Prospero Teaching is recruiting passionate and experienced SEND Tutors to provide bespoke 1:1 tuition to children and young people across St Helens.
You'll work with learners who may have additional needs or face barriers to accessing mainstream education. Your sessions will be adapted to each individual's abilities and learning goals, helping them develop confidence, improve their skills and make positive progress.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher, tutor or mentor who enjoys making a real difference through individualised support.
Position Details
* Location: St Helens
* Position: SEND Tutor
* Hours: 5-15 hours per week
* Start Date: September 2026
* Duration: Ongoing
Experience, Training and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND
* Experience delivering 1:1 tuition, teaching or mentoring
* QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (desirable)
* A patient, creative and adaptable approach
Experience working with learners with SEMH, Autism, ADHD or other additional needs would be advantageous.
To be eligible, you must:
* Hold the Right to Work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
* Provide two professional child-related references
