Salary: £100–£105 per day

Salary depends on experience and qualifications. Higher rates apply to candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training.

About the Role:

Help young people feel included, confident and ready to learn as a SEND Teaching Assistant. Two opportunities are available at a mainstream secondary school in Watford, supporting pupils across Years 7–11.

You will provide individual and small-group support across subjects, working with teachers to make learning accessible. Using practical classroom strategies, you will help pupils overcome barriers, stay engaged and develop independence.

This SEND Teaching Assistant role suits someone patient, calm and collaborative. Through consistent support and positive relationships, you will help pupils manage their emotions, recognise their progress and participate more confidently in school life.

Requirements:

To be eligible for this role and the stated rate of pay, applicants must have:

Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

Experience helping young people engage with learning in a classroom or similar setting.

Availability to support pupils across Years 7–11 and different secondary subjects.

The right to work in the UK for the duration of the appointment.

A commitment to safeguarding and willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and small-group support under teachers guidance.

Help pupils remain engaged and access classroom learning.

Use agreed strategies to support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

Build trusting relationships that encourage participation.

Share observations with teachers to keep support consistent and responsive.

Develop pupils' confidence and independence.
