Salary: £100–£101.80 per day

Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)

Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates apply to candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training, such as a recognised Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

About the Role:

A specialist school setting in Dacorum is seeking a patient, dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 14–16 who face barriers to learning.

Working across two sites, you will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils build confidence, engage with lessons and develop independence. Alongside teachers, you will adapt activities, strengthen literacy and numeracy skills, and contribute to learning and behaviour plans.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role suits someone calm and consistent who understands the importance of trusted relationships. You will join experienced colleagues who celebrate pupils progress and help them prepare for their next steps.

Requirements:

· Experience supporting young people who face barriers to learning

· Experience providing one-to-one or small-group support

· Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills

· A patient approach to behaviour and pupil engagement

· Ability to maintain accurate records and handle information confidentially

· The right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo safeguarding checks

Key Responsibilities:

· Support individuals and small groups with varied learning needs

· Help teachers adapt and deliver accessible classroom activities

· Encourage positive behaviour through consistent, respectful relationships

· Develop pupils reading, writing, numeracy and independent learning skills

· Contribute to learning plans, assessments and progress records

· Work with colleagues and other professionals to support pupils next steps
