SEND Teaching Assistant

We are proudly working in Partnership with a Specialist Provision School Trust in the Wigan Area to recruit skilled and dedicated SEND Teaching Asistants to work with Secondary aged pupils with a variety of SEND and Additional needs.

Do you work with vulnerable children in residential or care settings?

Are you passionate about providing care to young learners?

Do you have an Overseas teaching qualification or recent experience of working in Specialist Provision?

Our school runs over two Specialist sites supporting pupils in academic learning and life skills. Based in Leigh and Wigan centre, they offer roles in connection to pupil funding. The Trust prides itself on offering GCSE and abridges curriculum models to help pupils set achieveable goals and personal milestones. They have unique facilities on site for SEND learners to help provide calm and nurturing aspects to the school day.

The school works with pupils with Autism, ADHD, EBD, Physical, SEMH, and Learning needs. A variety of enrichment, and life skills activities is also included within the curriculum and the school day. Some personal care may be required within this role. You will be working on a one-to-one or two-to-one basis within pupils to provide excellent qualitiy of support within the school and remove barriers to learning.

You will need:

- Recent references (2 years)

- Experience of working with children in the last 5 years inside or outside of education

- Up to date DBS preferred but not essential
