SEND Teaching Assistants – Multiple Opportunities (EYFS to KS2)

Location: Sheffield, S14
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full school term (until the end of the academic term)

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sheffield (S14) who are looking to appoint a number of SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Early Years through to Upper Key Stage 2. These are full-time roles for the entire school term, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children’s educational journeys.

The school is seeking caring, proactive and committed individuals who have experience supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including pupils with EHCPs, complex learning needs, social and emotional needs, and additional learning needs.

Opportunities available

Support within Early Years (EYFS) – an approved Early Years qualification is highly desirable; personal care will be required as part of the role.
Support for pupils in Year 1 with additional needs.
Support in Year 2, including working with a child with complex learning needs during morning sessions.
Support in Year 3, with a focus on social and emotional needs.
Support in Year 4, primarily working with a pupil who has an EHCP.
Support in Upper Key Stage 2 with a range of SEND needs.

The ideal candidate will have

Experience working with children with SEND in a school, childcare or similar setting.
A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
Relevant qualifications (CACHE, NVQ, Early Years or equivalent) are advantageous, but not essential for all positions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
