SEN Teaching Assistant - Learning Disabilities

Location: Birmingham (Central & North)
Hours: Full Time | Day-to-Day Supply | Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you passionate about supporting children with learning disabilities?

We're recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work in welcoming primary SEND schools across Birmingham (Central & North), supporting pupils with learning disabilities, Autism (ASC), ADHD and additional needs.

We want to hear from:
SEN/SEND Teaching Assistants
Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)
Residential Care Workers
Care Workers (personal care/manual handling experience)
Sports Coaches and Youth Workers
Former Army, Police, Prison Officers, Probation Officers and Firefighters
Security Officers
Psychology graduates/students
Speech and Language Therapists
Your Role
Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
Help children access learning and achieve their EHCP outcomes.
Support communication, independence and social development.
Use positive behaviour management strategies.
Assist with personal care where required.
Work closely with teachers and other professionals.
Requirements
Previous experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults.
Experience within education, care, residential care, youth work, coaching, healthcare or similar.
Experience supporting SEND or learning disabilities is highly desirable.
No training will be provided, so you must have relevant experience and be ready to start confidently.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable. If you don't have one, you'll need to obtain and pay for your own Enhanced DBS check.
