Description:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We are looking for a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 2 to 21 with a range of complex needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health challenges, and alongside some learning disabilities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive team in a specialist setting in Kings Heath, Birmingham where every day is different, and every small success counts.
About the Role:
* Provide individualised support to pupils with ASD, MLD and complex needs, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Assist in implementing behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies.
* Support the development of social skills, confidence, and independence in young learners.
* Providing personal care and support for students with learning/physical disabilities.
Requirements:
* Minimum 6 months experience working with children or young people with SEMH, autism, or behavioural needs, in a SEND classroom.
* Team Teach/MAPA/CPI Interventions - must hold an in date certificate
* A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting challenging behaviours.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A proactive, flexible mindset and a genuine desire to support vulnerable young people.

Desirable:
* Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or mental health (e.g. CACHE, Level 2/3 TA, etc.).
* Experience working in an SEN or alternative provision environment.
* Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and emotional regulation strategies.
