The Role:

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with various special educational needs within the classroom. You will work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting the teacher in delivering tailored lessons and adapting learning materials to meet individual needs.
Providing one-on-one support to students during class activities and helping them with their academic and personal development.
Assisting with behavior management strategies and promoting positive behavior among students.
Collaborating with the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure students' progress is monitored effectively.
Supporting students with personal care tasks, including toileting and feeding, as required.
Encouraging social interaction and participation in group activities to enhance students' communication and social skills.
Maintaining accurate records and documenting students' progress, behaviors, and achievements.Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs is highly desirable.
A patient, compassionate, and empathetic approach towards students with diverse needs.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
The ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic educational setting.
Knowledge of various special educational needs and strategies to support individual requirements.
A positive attitude and a commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.Desirable Qualifications:

Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
