We are working with a number of welcoming and supportive primary SEND schools across Birmingham (Central & North) who are looking for passionate teachers to join their teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for teachers who have gained valuable SEND experience within mainstream education and are ready to specialise in a SEND setting.

Whether you have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or demonstrable experience teaching pupils with SEND, we'd love to hear from you.

SEN Hubs
Resource Bases
Specialist Resource Provisions
Inclusion Units
Mainstream primary schools with dedicated SEND departments
Schools supporting pupils with EHCPs

We are particularly interested in teachers who have supported pupils with:

Autism (ASD)
ADHD
SEMH
Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
Complex Needs
The Role

You'll play a key role in delivering engaging, personalised learning that enables every pupil to thrive. Working alongside experienced Teaching Assistants, therapists and SEND professionals, you'll create an inclusive classroom where children feel safe, supported and motivated to achieve.

Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs.
Teaching pupils with a range of SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs.
Supporting pupils to achieve their EHCP outcomes.
Creating a nurturing, structured and engaging learning environment.
Using positive behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation.
Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, parents and external professionals.
Monitoring progress and adapting teaching to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
We're Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or demonstrable experience teaching pupils with SEND.
Experience working within an SEN Hub, Resource Base, Inclusion Unit or specialist provision in a mainstream primary school is highly desirable.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
A strong understanding of inclusive teaching and differentiated learning.
A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach.
A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs succeed.
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or proven experience teaching pupils with SEND.
Experience planning and delivering lessons to children with additional needs.
No training will be provided. Successful candidates must already have the relevant experience and be able to undertake the role confidently from day one.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable. If you do not currently hold one, you will be required to obtain and pay for your own Enhanced DBS check before starting work.
