SEND Teacher – ASC & SLD
Location: Uxbridge, West London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience
Are you an experienced SEND Teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with Autism (ASC) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)?
Do you have the patience, creativity and adaptability to deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons for pupils with a range of communication, sensory and learning needs?
TeacherActive is working with a specialist SEND setting in the Uxbridge area that is looking for a dedicated SEND Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis.
The role
As a SEND Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver creative, highly differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
Support pupils with ASC, SLD and complex learning needs
Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals within the classroom
Use a range of communication strategies to engage pupils, including non-verbal learners
Follow individual EHCP targets and contribute towards pupils' academic, social and emotional development
Create a calm, structured and supportive classroom environment
Manage behaviour positively and consistently
The ideal SEND Teacher will have:
QTS or a relevant teaching qualification
Previous experience teaching pupils with ASC and/or SLD
Strong knowledge of SEND and differentiated teaching
Experience supporting pupils with communication and sensory needs
Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills
A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
