Position: SEN Specialist Practitioner

Location: Stoke City, ST3 6PY

Pay: £105.83 Per Day UMR

The Role: As a SEN Specialist Practitioner, you'll play a crucial role in collaboratively seeking and providing the best circumstances for a reception pupil with SEMH and limited communication skills to learn and develop. Your responsibilities will include supporting the pupil's access to the mainstream curriculum, ensuring equitable opportunities for learning, and delivering a personalised curriculum under the guidance of specialist professionals and the class teacher. You'll communicate effectively with all pupils according to their communication needs, fostering a total communication environment. Additionally, you'll work closely with the class teacher, Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QToD), specialists, and other professionals to assist in the delivery and assessment of pupils' individual programmes and targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaboratively seek and provide the best circumstances for a reception pupil with SEMH and limited communication skills to learn and develop.
Support SEMH pupil's access to the mainstream curriculum, ensuring equitable access to this.
Under the guidance of specialist professionals and the class teacher, carry out and support the delivery of a personalised curriculum.
Communicate with all pupils according to their communication needs through effective practice in a total communication environment.
Under the guidance of the class teacher/QToD/Specialists and using your observational skills and training: assist in the delivery and assessment of pupils' individual programmes and targets.Requirements:

Qualified SEN practitioner with relevant experience working in a primary school setting.
Strong knowledge of SEN legislation, assessment tools, and intervention strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving, with the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of students and the school community.
