The Role: The school is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join their team on a part-time basis, working two days per week. This non-classroom based role involves overseeing and managing the provision for students with special educational needs, ensuring that they receive tailored support to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the provision for students with SEN, ensuring that their needs are met effectively.
Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
Provide guidance and support to staff on best practices for SEN teaching and learning.
Coordinate with external agencies and professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students with SEN.
Monitor and track the progress of students with SEN, using data to inform interventions and strategies.
Lead training and professional development for staff on SEN issues and strategies.
Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and implement SEN policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and maintain accurate records of SEN provision.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
Advocate for students with SEN, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs are met within the school community.Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant SENCO qualification.
Previous experience in a SENCO role or significant experience working with students with SEN.
A thorough understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and statutory requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external agencies.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for supporting students with SEN.
